Donald John Thiele

Donald John Thiele, aged 74 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of the Spring Valley district, Saskatchewan passed away on Monday, January 7th, 2008. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 11th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Pastor Bill Thomson will officiate. Don was predeceased by his parents Henry and Sophia; brothers George, John, Stan, Joe, Carl, Anton; and sister Rosie. Don is loving remembered by his wife of 43 years Betty; daughters Joanne (Jeremy) and their children Dana, Danielle, Michael, Derek and Scott; Gayle (Ted) and their children Sam, Christopher, and Gina; Lorie (Dave) and their children Marc, Ashley, and Darrian; Bonnie and her son Austin; brothers Eddie (Pat) and Arnie (Delva); sisters in law Isabelle and Audrey; brothers in law Sigfried Tress, Ewald (Isabelle), Ambrose (Violet) and Alfred (Diane); his “adopted boys” Trevor, Kerry, Kenny, and Michael; numerous nieces and nephews; and of course his dog Kitty. Don was born and raised in Spring Valley. He took over the family farm and remained in the Spring Valley area farming until Betty and Don retired to Moose Jaw in 2000. Don was a counselor of the R.M. of Terrell for 17 years. He was an active member of the Oro Lake and Spring Valley Rec. Boards for several years. His passion in life  was his wife Betty and his four girls. He will be remembered for his quick wit and practical jokes. He was a friend to anyone and everyone always.
