Laurie Ann Sutherland

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Laurie Ann Sutherland aged 63 years of Moose Jaw, SK, on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023.

She was predeceased by her father, Rodrigue; and brother, Brian.  Laurie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jeff; sons, Rob (Jillian) and Andrew (Heather); grandchildren: Hayden, Liam, and Serena; mother, Jessie; brothers: Michael, Larry (Linda), Kevin (Lucille), Dwayne, and David (Marcie); nieces and nephews: Brock, Brittany, Shannon, Trendell, Nicole, and Chase; brothers-in-law, Ken (Joyce) and Rob (Jocelyne); sister-in-law, Judy (Peter – deceased); as well as her nieces and nephews on Jeff’s side of the family.

Laurie worked at Valley View Center and spent her whole life sharing her compassion by helping and caring for others.  She loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face.  She loved to read, spend time in her pool, and be outside at the lake in the sunshine.  Family functions were enjoyed thoroughly with Christmas feasts being her absolute favorite.  Most important of all was her unconditional love for her family.  Spending time with her grandchildren was so special to her.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Beaudoin, David Beaudoin, Brock Beaudoin, Brittany Beaudoin, Nicole Beaudoin and Dan Brodt.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Laurie’s name may be made to the Teddy Bears Anonymous, 7711 Discovery Rd, Regina, SK S4Y 1E8 or Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, 103 Hospital Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt Funeral Director 306-693-4550

My heart goes out to all of you in this sad time. There are no words to comfort you, but take strength in each other. I remember cousin Laurie’s big smile, lots of laughs and fun times in Saskatchewan when we visited. I am so sorry.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your beautiful Laurie Ann. That smile, that laugh, a truly lovely soul. Very fond memories of a serene and calm Laurie with her rambunctious brothers during a fun cousin visit to their farm in the 70s. May you all find comfort with each other during this sorrowful time. A donation has been made in Laurie’s honour to Teddy Bears Anonymous, a very worthy cause.
