JAMIE CHARLES SPIDLA

Jamie Charles Spidla was born on March 24th, 1981, in Moose Jaw, SK.  He suddenly left us on Friday, April 7th, 2023 at the age of 42 years.  Jamie is survived by his parents, Dennis and Brenda; sisters, Kelly (Brent) and Kerri (Brad); nieces and nephews: Shay and Reece Woods, Ella and Evan Bourhis.

Jamie grew up on the family farm and he attended Limerick School from Kindergarten to Grade 12.  Shortly after graduation, Jamie spent some time in the Oil and Gas Industry and went on to SIAST in Saskatoon, SK where he received his Heavy-Duty Mechanics Diploma.  The skills learned would suit him well as he returned home to continue the legacy of Spidla Farms with his parents.  Besides his passion for farming, a close second was his love for sports.  An avid Edmonton Oilers fan, Jamie participated and excelled on many local sports teams.  One of Jamie’s favorite past times was golfing with his buddies and talking classic cars.

Jamie’s ability to bring people together and his involvement in the local community will be sorely missed.  He was always there for his friends and family.  Jamie was proud to be surrounded by his circle of friends and fellow farmers that showed up without being asked and did what needed to be done.

He had a tremendous admiration for his nieces and nephews.  He followed their activities closely and spoke fondly of their accomplishments to anyone that came to the shop for a visit.

He will be forever missed in our hearts but will never be forgotten.  The family wishes to thank all those who made Jamie’s life better – he cherished those connections and friendships.

A Celebration of Jamie’s Life will be announced at a later date. In memory of Jamie, donations may be made to STARS Air Ambulance, 2640 Airport Road, Regina, SK S4W 1A3 for the work they do in Rural Saskatchewan or to a local charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Brenda, Dennis, Kelly, Brent, Kerri, Brad, Shay, Reece, Ella and Evan,
So very saddened for your tragic loss of Jamie. Your world must be in pieces. I’m so sorry you’re going through this terrible pain. Look after yourselves and each other by remembering all the special memories you made together as a wonderful loving family who has always been there for each other.
I remember Jamie for his athletic abilities and his quick humour. I was fortunate to have had a chat with Jamie at Pat and Chantel’s wedding.

Had such a fun visit with Jamie a couple weeks ago and he always asked how Reg was..we just loved that smiley face and his personality just was so kind..he always made you feel better just being around him. I cannot find the right words but our hearts just hurt for what you are all going through. So much love from Reg & Trudy Ruzicka.

Shocked and saddened to learn of Jamie’s passing. My heart goes out to the Spidla family. He certainly could make me laugh and was always so friendly when I saw him.

Dennis, Brenda, Kelly, & Kerri I can’t find the words to express how saddened we are with the passing of Jamie (Speeder). He was one of a kind, with that welcoming smile and a laugh whenever u would meet up with him. I have great memories of playing baseball and hockey with him and against him. He will certainly be missed.
We are thinking of you & your family and remembering Speeder
Take care Randy & Diane Slough

    Spidla Family,

I just heard about your loss, I could say that I am sorry but it does not do much for the hole Jamie’s loss has left that will never truly heal. I do wish you hold on to all the good, fun and beautiful memories of him because they are the most important.

I can say I only have great memories of my time growing up with Jamie and all of you. Though I had not seen him in so very long it does hurt to know, he is no longer in this world.

Please take care of each other.
