Doris Irene Rogers

Doris Irene Rogers, aged 93 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16th, 2013 with her family by her side.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 21st, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, 1010 Main St. N., Moose Jaw, SK.  Interment will take place before the service at Rosedale Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.  Those so wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery gates by 12:20 p.m.  Pastor Adam Driscoll will officiate.  A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, June 20th, 2013 from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Doris was born at Parkbeg and received her education at Kelly School.  She worked at the General Hospital in Moose Jaw until she married Leslie (Buck) Rogers on August 21st, 1941 and together they raised 4 children.  Doris was an active member of the First Baptist Church.  She was very competitive in sports and very creative with her hands, but above all her family always came first.  She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie (Buck); daughter, Joan Keller; sisters, Florence (Toots) and Spence Hemsworth, and Jean and Norm Balderston; and brother, Doug and Flo Humphrey.  Doris will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Bev (Glen) Rousell and Elaine (Brian) Stirton; son, Tom (Sandra); son-in-law, Gary Keller; grandchildren: Gerald (Ruth) Rousell, Linda Stykel, Brad (Tracy) Keller, Brent (Catherine) Keller, Kirk (Laura) Keller, Tamra (Shae) Nichols, Joanne (Jeff) Calvert, Holly Stirton (Kyle Alexander), Katie (Warren) Sira, Sara Stirton, Jill Rogers and Samantha Rogers (Will Butler); 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Mabel Rogers; as well as numerous other relatives.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  Donations in Doris’ name may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 24 Oxford St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2N1.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director. 306-693-4550.
