Ivan John Richardson
It is with great sadness that the family of Ivan John Richardson aged 80 years of Simpson, Saskatchewan, announces his passing on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024.
Ivan was born in Simpson on January 8th, 1944, and grew up on the family farm west of Simpson. He attended school at June Rose until grade 8, when he started farming at the age of 13. In 1965 Ivan married the love of his life, Dianne and together they ran the farm west of Simpson and raised their 4 children in the hills. Ivan was very proud of his family farm; farming was the only thing he ever wanted to do.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Pearl; sister, Joan; and mother, father and brother-in-law: Mac, Louise and Buck. Ivan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dianne; children: Ian (Michelle), Grant (Leslie), Neal (Tomi), and Christa (Corrie); grandchildren: Shelby (Tony), Dallas, Graham, Amanda (Ian), Kirsty, David, Joshua, Jonathan, Justice, Noah, and Zachary (Chalsey); brother, Howard (Donna); brother-in-law, Dennis; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful sidekick, Walter.
A Celebration of Ivan’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Simpson Community Center in Simpson, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ivan’s name may be made to Imperial Ambulance, PO Box 279, Imperial, SK S0G 2J0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
