Lucile Oakley (née: Perry)

With sorrow, the family of Lucile Oakley (née: Perry) announces her passing on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018.  Lucile was born July 11th, 1927 in Central Butte, SK.  She is predeceased by her parents, Carroll and Beatrice; husband, Kenneth; sons, Alan and Gordon; siblings, Ruth and Burton Perry; and recently her son-in-law, Bob Machmer.  Lucile moved to Moose Jaw where she met and married Ken in 1950, together they raised their 6 children at the Brick Plant near Claybank. Lucile was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She had a great sense of humour and often a good comeback. Lucile and Ken liked to travel, they enjoyed nature-watching, the Olympics and time with family and friends. Lucile will be greatly missed by her family: her sister, Patricia Huff of Winnipeg; daughters: Pat Machmer of Spring Valley, Linda Oakley (James Redeker) of Calgary, Susan Oakley-Paul (Grant Paul) and Carol (Marv) Klingelhofer of Regina; as well as 9 grandchildren: Debbie (Brad) Benko, Ryan (Bobbie) Machmer, Jennifer (Robert) Runzer, Alan Waugh, Joshua (Jennifer) Oakley, Jenna Oakley (Gordon Way), Jayme Oakley (Donny Ready), Danielle Klingelhofer, and Melissa Klingelhofer; and 9 great-grandchildren, soon-to-be 10.  The family would like to extend their gratitude to Lucile’s caregivers in the final years of her life. A Memorial Tea will be held on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Lucile’s name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, 200 8944 182 St, Edmonton, AB T5T 2E3.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
