Gail Janice Mykytiw

Gail Janice Mykytiw, born September 18th, 1945 in Canora SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at the age of 79 years.  A spirited soul with a zest for life, Gail leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, and compassion.

Gail is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Larry Mykytiw and their son, Tie.  Gail is also remembered by her sister, Cindy Knutson; and her cherished family members, including Mike (Becky, Oliver, and Ellie), Brandt, Angela, Zoe Mykytiw, Travis, and Marcy.

Gail’s professional life was marked by dedication and pride, particularly during her time at Husky Oil and later at Fairford Industries, where she thrived in her roles.  As a young woman, Gail broke barriers as one of the few women who rode motorbikes, embracing the freedom of the open road with passion and fearlessness.  Her adventurous spirit was matched by her immense love for animals, especially her beloved Pomeranians, Max and Bishop and her cat, Dexter.  Her family finds comfort in imagining them reunited, waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Pioneer Lodge – Memory Lane for their compassion and care during Gail’s final months.  A special thank you for the bologna sandwiches which brought her comfort and joy.

Gail’s warmth, courage, and love for life touched everyone around her.  She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Iin keeping with Gail’s wishes, no service will be held.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

I am so sorry to hear about Gail’s passing. I only worked with her for a short period of time, but enjoyed her company very much. Thinking of you all.
