Edward Lauren Leclerc

In the early morning hours of Thursday, March 5th, 2020, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer, our beloved husband, father and brother Edward Lauren Leclerc (aka: Eddie, Sanchez), aged 44 years of Moose Jaw, SK started his journey home.  Eddie was born on March 31st, 1975 in Winnipeg, MB.  Though his time with us was too short, he taught us so much about courage, love, laughter, and family.  We will hold dear to us his love of music and the parts of himself he shared through the songs he wrote.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Hannah; grandparents, Cecile and Adlard Leclerc, and Alfred and Rose Demontigny; parents, Louis and Angela; God-parents, Doris and Peter; as well as numerous aunts and uncles, and cousin Ronnie whom he loved like a brother.  Eddie is survived by his loving wife, April; children: Louis, Cheyenne, Monique, and Sadye (Chris); step-children: Samantha (Mark), Tristan, Shaylynne, and Kyle; 5 grandchildren; siblings: Jason (Helen), Rosaleen (Darren), Brian, and Treena; along with numerous nieces, nephews and 3 Godchildren.  A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, March 12th, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St, Moose Jaw, SK. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Eddie’s name be made to the Palliative Care Program c/o Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.

Eddie was such a fighter against this horrible disease. I have never seen someone so brave to get as many months, days, and hours to be with his wife and kids. Miss him already. Great man and great friend. Rest In Peace my friend.

You know I love you all…and I am always here if you need me…deepest sympathies for Eddie’s passing and for the immense sorrow and void it has left for you and the family. He was a man of pride, honor, and dignity…and will continue to demonstrate that through his memories that his family holds dear.

Eddie was more than a cousin, he was like a brother, kind and steadfast. Even as I thanked him for all those times he was there for me, he soflty shook his head, as if to say ‘no thanks necessary’. I will miss your humour, your music, your smiling eyes, and your beautiful heart.

Dear Cuz as I sit here trying to type what to say is difficult as the thought of not being able to talk to you on the phone or in person is heart wrenching and hard to comprehend. what I want to tell you is that you will always be remembered and terribly missed. I can’t know lol the words what you said when I asked you a question about something and now I use the same words when I am asked a question you should see the look on people faces. I laugh as I think yup that’s the look I gave you when you first said it to me. I am going to miss your smile, laugh, sense of humor, and hearing you sing. You brought so much joy to everyone and dad loved every visit he had with you , April and the kids. Rest easy cuz i will cherish all the times and conversations we have shared your strength, courage, love of family, patience and understanding will carry on with in April and your children. Farewell till we meet again one day. April thank you for being you and the amazing care and love you have shown and given to your Eddie throughout this battle. know that he will always be with you and your family watching and loving you always from heaven with Jesus and God. God bless each and everyone of you. Rosie ,Darren, Jason, Helen and family my heart love prayers are with you as well through this difficult time. The love you have given and shown for your dear brother and his family is truly amazing and a reminder for each and everyone of us that family first above and beyond what struggles each of us face in life and that life is short and what is the most important thing in life is putting family first and the love support and faith in one another can overcome any struggle or battle each of face as long as we have each other. Our deepest condolences to each and every one of you and may God bless and guide you through this difficult time. I love you all.
