Daniel Paul Kasper

Daniel Paul Kasper, aged 85 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 19th, 2018 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK.  Dan was born in Craik, SK on November 4th, 1933.  He grew up on the farm near Holdfast, SK, moving to Moose Jaw in 1947.  Dan was hired by Bert York at the age of 17 and worked in the machine shop for York Auto Supply until he retired at the age of 64.  He married Elaine Brown on October 11th, 1958 and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage.  Dan enjoyed camping at Diefenbaker Lake, curling and watching all sports, especially when his sons or grandchildren were involved.  He spent many quiet hours in his bountiful garden, meticulously weeding and caring for his plants and yard. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Clementina; brothers: Joe (Kay), Ed (Elaine), Wilfred, and Ferdinand; sister, Anne Douglas; in-laws: Bob Graves, Guy Ellingson, John Andrie, John Kozo, Larry Slon, Kathy Kasper, Royce and Willa Brown, Elsie Stribbell, Cliff and Pearl Brown, and Norman and Doris Brown; as well as nieces and nephews: Chuck Kasper, Kent Douglas, Dawn Kasper, Phil Brown, Chris Brown, and Jimmy Brown.  Dan is survived by his wife, Elaine; daughter, Donna (Ken) Flavel; sons: Darrell and Darcy (Suzanne) Kasper; grandchildren: Camille Flavel, Kelan Flavel, and Katie Kasper; siblings: Pauline Graves, Joan Ellingson, Lydia Andrie, Janet Kozo, Kenny Kasper, Bill (Diane) Kasper, Clem Slon, Fred (Barb) Kasper, Eileen (John) Lyster, and Betty Petrovic; brother-in-law, Roy Douglas;and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and former co-workers.  A very special thank you is extended to the nurses on the Medical Unit, who lovingly cared for Dan during his final stay in hospital. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Father Jake Ibay will officiate and interment will take place at Dilke Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.     so sad to hear of Dans passing, I worked for him for a month stayed friends for good. Dan u were a great guy u will b missed rest in peace
