Cecile Rolande Lauria Kappelar
Cecile Rolande Lauria Kappelar (née: Gregoire) aged 93 years of Central Butte, SK, passed away on Monday, December 19th, 2022. Cecile was born July 3rd, 1929 in Val Marie, SK and was raised in the Lisieux area. She married Rudy Kappelar in 1951 and they moved to Central Butte, where they raised their family and became involved in many community events.
Cecile worked as a nurse at Central Butte Union Hospital and helped run the office for Rudy’s Esso Bulk Station. She was a Cub Scout Guide and active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Cecile was well known for her spunk and sense of humour. She will be missed by friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rudy Kappelar; daughter, Mitzi Kappelar; and sister, Jeanne Kearney. Cecile will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Gerry (Marlene) Gregoire; son, Steve (Beth) Kappelar; daughter, Rennee (Steve) Wallace; granddaughters, Merrett (Will) Gardner and Heather (Riley) Courchene; great-grandchildren: Riane and Isla Gardner, and Finley and Ari Courchene; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
