
JOHN JAMES LEWIS JERRETT
JOHN JAMES LEWIS JERRETT (OJ) of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 at 46 years of age. John was born in Moose Jaw to Eldred Jerrett and Debra Stewart Jerrett. John attended Prince Arthur Elementary and Peacock High School. He played football and attended 4H and was a lifeguard in Kayville, SK. He was an avid swimmer and enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He also loved animals and watching the Leafs win on T.V.
John has four children: Meagan, Kaylee, Brennan and Heaven. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces whom he loved very much.
John was a big part of many people’s lives. He had many friends and extended family. He was known to most as O.J, a nickname he was given in his teen years by friends.
John enjoyed playing the drums as well as guitar growing up. He was a great dancer and really enjoyed music of all kinds, one of his favourite musicians being Johnny Cash.
He enjoyed artwork and working in the yard and spending time with family and friends.
Although this health wasn’t good for the last while, he kept pushing forward and remained on the positive path.
John was predeceased by his parents, Eldred and Debra; nephew, Drew Jackson Blondeau; aunt, Linda Stewart Peterson; cousin, Tina Stewart Brooker and uncle, Bob Jerrett Jr.
John is survived by his sister, Sheryl-lynn Jerrett with nieces and nephew: Jacie, Summer, Marley, Holly, Avril, Irie and Sonny; sister, Amanda Stewart with niece, Dusty Rose (Justin) and great nephew, Kiowa. His children: Meagan, Kaylee, Brennan and Heaven as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He will be lovingly remembered by many friends and family and extended family as well as special friend, Tressa and special friend, Terry Neil.
The family would like to thank special friend Darlene for her help and dedication to John throughout the years, as well as the John Howard Society, the staff at Pioneers Lodge and the doctors and nurses at the Dr. F.H Wigmore Regional Hospital. The compassion and care you all showed John will always be remembered.
A Funeral Service for John (OJ) will be held on Monday, July 21st, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Elger will officiate. A time of fellowship will be held at the Holiday Inn following the service. My condolences to the family . Oj was a great man . Many years we have been friends well over 20. He was always helping people and trying to always be there for them. He never would let u have a bad day . He was an amazing soul. He will be dearly missed and I am very glad I got to be apart of his life.
Condolences to the family .I met John at a Bible study in 2009 .we went for coffee .we remained friends after that .even after I moved to glentworth Saskatoon we kept in touch .if I wanted to buy a donut know keep for your self .even though poverty struggles he was always nice to me .he liked chatting on line with me
I spent much of my 18-20’s with OJ and he was a really good guy. Prayers for his family through this great loss.
