Muriel Ann Harris

Harris, Muriel Ann – With hearts saddened by loss, the family of Muriel Harris announces her peaceful passing on November 17, 2023.  Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband, Stan.  Left to cherish her memory are daughters Barbara (Donald) Butlin of Moose Jaw, SK, Cori (Darrell) Nay of Delta, BC, Susan (Raymond) Carter of Cold Lake, AB, and Mary (Robin) Taylor of Calgary, AB.  Muriel treasured her grandchildren, Jennifer (Steven), Nicole (Devon), Curtis (Sylvia), Kevin, Cameron (Michelle), Cora (Nick), Scott, Shannon (Matt) and Harrison (Nadia).  Muriel was especially proud to have eight great grandchildren – Jalen, Lucas, Matthew, Hayden, Hailey, Isla, Remy and Logan.  Muriel was predeceased by her sisters Ruth and Corrine.  She is fondly remembered by her brother Bruce (Anne) and countless nieces and nephews.  Muriel dedicated her life to the service of others including over fifty years with Hospital Auxiliaries in Saskatchewan and Ontario.  Over her life, she was a committed member of Rebekahs, Eastern Star, Toastmasters and Canadian Club, and a faithful member of Minto United Church.  Muriel loved playing bridge at the Cosmo Club and Timothy’s, reading, cooking and baking, entertaining, travelling, and spending time with her family.  A Memorial Service for Muriel will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate. Those not able to attend may view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. Muriel will be remembered by numerous friends and family for her gracious nature, kindness and generosity, and zest for life.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, the CNIB, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.   Special thanks to the dedicated and compassionate staff at Chateau St. Michael’s; Dr. Bortolotti and the Medical Unit of Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital as well as the ER Staff; and heartfelt thanks to Dr. W. Geyer for his personal and exceptional care.

Remembering Muriel as a kind, compassionate friend to all.
The four Sisters have followed in her footsteps.
It is so hard to lose a loved one but remember that she was truly loved and cared for and lived her life to the fullest.

Sincere condolences to all of you Re Muriel’s Passing. I enjoyed my talks with her over the years. Besides the charities listed above she was also a Member of Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers which raised money to help AIDS orphans in Africa.( Moose Jaw G 4 G sadly had to fold due to Covid) She was a member of our group here for several yrs but as time passed and health issues came she had to cut back on several tings. I know she enjoyed playing cards at Cosmo centre and enjoyed going to Minto services with Barb and attending their various teas. Would run into her at the small elevator there waiting to go up or down. She did so much fundraising in her life and had so many stories to share..I enjoyed them. She enjoyed the Boston Pizza suppers we held. She was a lovely lady with a large heart..and will be missed. God bless.

Your mother was one of my babysitters when we lived in Thunder Bay.we reconnected many years later at a volunteer luncheon & through her church while in London First St Andrew’s.
We had many fond chats about living in Thunder Bay & also Saskatchewan.
She will be missed by so many.
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time
