Daisy Velma (Jeffery) Frostad

Daisy Velma (Jeffery) Frostad went to be with her Lord on December 13, 2019 (her 93rd birthday) at West Park Crossing Retirement Community in Moose Jaw, SK.  Daisy was born December 13, 1926 in the Jeffery family home (NE ¼ Sec 8 Tp 13 Rge 25 W 2nd) near Briercrest, SK.  She earned her Registered Nurse’s diploma at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital in 1949.  She married her beloved husband of 67 years, Gerald Clayton Frostad, on June 26, 1952.  They made their home in Kincaid, SK where they raised their eight children. In 2007 Gerald and Daisy moved and spent their retirement years in Caronport, SK.  Daisy was predeceased by her parents William and Susanna (Glover) Jeffery, her siblings and in-laws Bill (Alma) Jeffery, Orville (Clara) Jeffery, Jim (Evelyn) Jeffery, Nelson Jeffery and Doreen (Wilf) Rempel, as well as her great granddaughter Becca Frostad. Daisy is survived by her husband, Gerald; her eight children and their spouses, David (Adeline) Frostad, Carl Frostad (Cecile Corbiere), Claire (Esther) Frostad, Nata (David) Kline, Rhys Frostad, Veleta (Delmar) Klassen, Gary (Pearl) Frostad and Jeffery (Sandra) Frostad, 17 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren.   She is also survived by one brother Roy (Pat) Jeffery and sister-in-law Winnie Jeffery as well as many nieces and nephews. Daisy will be remembered for her strong faith and steadfast trust in her Lord.  This defined who she was and what was important to her. Gerald and Daisy faithfully attended the Woodrow Gospel Chapel and later enjoyed the fellowship at Caronport Community Church. They served together as Gideons for 50 years.  Daisy will also be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who cared deeply about the welfare of each one and, in later years, made many phone calls to keep the family informed and to make sure all was well. She will also be remembered as a devoted nurse who diligently cared for the people of Kincaid and surrounding area.  The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bell and the caregivers at West Park Crossing who cared for Mom in her final weeks. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Following a private family burial, a Memorial Service and Reception will be held at the Hildebrand Chapel, 510 College Dr, Caronport SK on Thursday December 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm.   Donations in memory of Daisy Frostad will be graciously accepted by The Gideons International in Canada P.O. Box 3619 Stn Main Guelph, ON N1H 9Z9 and will be used to fund the distribution of Bibles.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550.

    Dear Uncle Gerald & Family,

Thinking of you all today and the days ahead with much love and sympathy. Sorry we couldn’t all make it out there, but Ron will be arriving today in representation. Aunt Daisy certainly had lots of family waiting, with open arms, to great her on her final journey. The rest of us here will miss her dearly.

Big hugs and lots of love,
