Hazel Ovida Forge

Hazel Ovida Forge (Roset) passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2nd, 2011 at the age of 93.  She was born at Gouldtown, SK. on March 31st, 1918.  She received her education at Lowfarm School, Gouldtown and Main Centre High School.  She took her teachers training at Moose Jaw and taught at Roland School, Gouldtown and Lake School, Briercrest.  She married Ralph Forge on October 21st, 1944 and they farmed at Tilney and Pasqua.  She was predeceased by her husband in 1985; her parents, Bent and Eline Roset; father and mother-in-law, James and Minnie Forge; brothers: Chester, Oscar and Wilfred (Leila) Roset; sister-in-law, Evy Roset; brothers-in-law: George Driedger, Ben Giesbrecht, Frank (Ivy, Doris) Forge, Norman Forge and Alf Maynard; sister-in-law Dorothy (Robert) Francis and nephew, Grant Roset.  Hazel leaves to mourn her loss her son, Barry (Eva) Forge of Moose Jaw; her daughter, Myrna Forge of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Teresa (Ramon) Stutzman of Saskatoon, Kara (Tim) Janzen of Steinbach, MB. and Michael (Cherie) Forge of Moose Jaw; great-granddaughters: Olivia and Samantha Janzen; sisters: O’Della Giesbrecht of Swift Current and Gladys Roset of Regina; brother, Ted Roset of Medicine Hat; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Roset of Regina, Lois Roset of Edmonton, AB., Bette Forge of Escondido, CA, and Marguerite Maynard of Moose Jaw; and many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the GARU and Maquire Centre at Providence Place, Chez Nous and Moose Jaw Union Hospital.  A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 9th, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St. N, Moose Jaw, SK.  Rev. Ken Roset will officiate and interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, May 8th, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Hazel’s name may be made to the Kedleston Gospel Camp, 808 Assiniboine Ave. E., Regina, SK. S4V 0K6.
