Adam Jason Butler

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Adam Jason Butler on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2025.  A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Adam left this world surrounded by those he loved most.

Born on September 19th, 1984, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Adam was the cherished son of Pam and Jay Butler.  He married the love of his life, Christina Aedan Butler (née: Whelan) on August 8th, 2009, and together they built a wonderful life, raising their two beautiful boys, Knox and Jack.

Adam was not only a devoted family man but also an exceptional entrepreneur and a passionate advocate for hockey.  His natural charisma, leadership, and relentless drive led him to remarkable success in business and deep involvement in the sport he loved.

He was predeceased by his grandmother, Betty Butler; grandfather, Murray McRoberts; uncles, Glenn Butler and Todd McRoberts; and nephew, Thomas Connatty.  Adam will be lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Ernie Butler and Erna McRoberts; his in-laws, Christie and Kenna Whelan, and their parents Birdie and Bryce Boan and Christie Whelan Sr; and siblings: Jacqueline (Jerred) Williams, Mackenzie (Cody) Connatty, Brett (Kristin) Butler, Alex (Evan) Butler, and Blake (Jenna) Butler.  He is also deeply missed by his brother-in-law, Brenainn Whelan; sister-in-law, Bryde (Jon) Pitts; and his 16 adored nieces and nephews: Jake, Davin, Walker, Nash, and Aspen Williams, Blair and Caeden Pitts, Paisley, Beckham, and Jason Connatty, Smith, Wells, and Ford Butler, and Theodore and Meadow Heisler.  He will be sorrowfully missed by his dear Aunties, Dale (Mel) Pinel and Holly (Dan) Jowett; and all the cousins: Jared, Paul, Jill, Whitney, Ashley, Joel, Hailey, Jasmine, Beau, and Makayla.

Adam’s entrepreneurial journey was marked by innovation and a keen eye for opportunity.  He invented and successfully marketed the “DipStick” — a unique ice fishing beverage holder that continues to sell well today, a testament to his ingenuity and business acumen.

Beyond his own inventions, Adam played a critical role in the global expansion of the family business, Fifth Avenue Collection, a prestigious jewellery brand.  As Managing Director, he helped elevate the company’s presence in Australia, Asia, and across North America, forging strong partnerships and leaving a lasting impression on colleagues worldwide.  His ability to inspire and mentor others made him a respected leader in the business community.

In recent years, Adam dedicated himself to Northern Water Cleaners, where he applied his entrepreneurial spirit to grow the company into a well-regarded name in water purification.  His leadership and commitment to quality made a meaningful impact in the industry, ensuring families and businesses had access to cleaner, safer water.

Adam’s love for hockey was evident throughout his life, and he remained deeply involved in the sport long after his own playing days ended.  As a dedicated coach with South Sask Academy, he took great pride in shaping young athletes, instilling in them not only the skills of the game but also the values of hard work, discipline, and teamwork.  He understood the profound impact sports could have on a child’s development and was committed to helping his players reach their full potential, both on and off the ice.  His guidance and mentorship left a lasting impression on countless young athletes who looked up to him as a role model.

Beyond coaching, Adam was an avid golfer, forming lifelong friendships on the course.  Whether on the ice or the fairway, he brought joy, camaraderie, and a competitive spirit that made every game memorable.

Adam’s entrepreneurial achievements, leadership, and unwavering dedication to his community will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  He was a man who turned challenges into opportunities, inspired those around him, and left an enduring impact in both business and sports.  His legacy of ambition, mentorship, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A Celebration of Adam’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Heritage Inn in the Jubilee Ballrooms.  Come share in a toast and celebrate the life of a remarkable man!  A private family interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Adam’s name may be made to the Adam Butler Junior Golf Memorial Fund, 30 Stadacona St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1Z1 or etransfers to juniorgolf@facmail.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

I am so sorry to hear of Adam’s passing. I still remember the days when he and my son, Michael played floor hockey down our basement. Wonderful memories of Adam to save for my son and myself. My sympathy goes out to the Butler and Pinel families at this very sad time.

No words can express our heartfelt sorrow for your families loss.
We only had a few short times with Adam, but his beautiful personality filled the room. He made a huge impact in a very short time. No question what a kind caring man he was.

Although we did not know Adam well enough to fully appreciate the man he was, we were so blessed to have spent a few memorable occasions with him. Even in these snippets of time, his pure goodness as a human being shone.
Aedan, the boys, Jacq & Jerred, Mackenzie… my heart aches for you. My thoughts are with you, your kiddos, your parents, Adam’s whole family and loved ones. Hang on to each other right now, and share in your memories.

I remember meeting Adam many years ago when he first took an interest in the family business. He started out at ground zero working shoulder to shoulder with his mentor Chouett Chung. Adam was so kind and so respectful, I knew he was going to do great things with his life. I blinked and there he was running the family business in Australia. I remember Adam being humble, soft spoken and very smart.
There are no words that can express this kind of grief and my heart goes out to you, Jay & Pam and families.
Adam’s soul will now be joined with his beautiful Grandmother Betty.
Betty loved Adam with all of her heart. Our world just lost another fantastic human being.
Diane & I send you love and our deepest condolences.

Jay and Pam, and ALL of Adam’s immediate and extended family and friends… ever since we got to know Adam as a little guy learning to skate, it was apparent what a charismatic guy he would grow up to be. So personable, in every way… we always enjoyed having him over, hanging out with our son, Cameron…running into him around MJ.. always stopped to chat…such an easy going, respectful young man. Deepest condolences.

Our most sincere sympathies on the passing of Adam. He was a student at CCI when I worked in the office there, such a nice fellow….a bit of mischief, easy-going, polite and he had that sparkle about him, that special trait that made him so personable….that you knew he would impact the world in his own way. It’s very sad that he passed so young, we recognize your loss is so profound. Your memories will keep him warm in your hearts forever. Hugs to everyone.

We were so sorry to hear about Adam. There are no words that can express the depth of sorrow or feelings for your loss.
I remember Adam as a little boy when Brent lived next door to Pam and Jay on Marshal Crescent, and during all of our get togethers Jacqueline and Adam were a joy to be around. Then, years later while working with you, Aedan, I got to be reacquainted with Adam as a young man. He was very nice and always gave a friendly “hello” or chat.
We hope that as the months and years pass, you will find solace in the beautiful memories you created together as a family. Adam will live on in your hearts forever.
