Tre Alexander Blacklaws

It is with heavy hearts we announce the untimely passing of Tre Alexander Blacklaws aged 17 years of Moose Jaw, SK – beloved son, brother, and friend to many.

Born in Moose Jaw, SK, on June 18th, 2007, to Keri and Terry Blacklaws, Tre was predeceased by his great-grandfather, Tom Wendzina; grandfather, Lorne Heron; great-uncle, Eddy Wendzina; and great-uncle, Bobby Calquhoun.

Despite bearing the weight of the world, Tre maintained a caring, compassionate outlook on life, and often tried to put his own struggles aside to help others with theirs.  The love he had for his family was immense, as was theirs for him.  He would go to great lengths to put a smile on others faces, often at his own expense.  Since a very young age Tre struggled with his mental health but always lived life his way.

Tre will be remembered by his parents, Keri and Terry Blacklaws; brothers, Darian Gardner and Justin Gardner (Mercedes); nephew, Jacob; great-grandpa, George; grandma, Lynn Heron; grandparents, Suzy and Brian Blacklaws; grandma, Mickey Heron; uncle, Brian (Charity); cousins: Cayden, Rylan, Jordan, and Beau; aunties, Shawna Connolly and Tanya Connolly; cousin, Matt Connolly; as well as many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating.  Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Tre’s name may be made to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation for Child and Youth Mental Health at www.pattisonchildrens.ca/help-now/donate/youth-mental-health/ or The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

I was an E.A at the school Tre went to. I so remember him running up to me and asking if I was going to be in his class for the day. I worked with Tre souly for a few classes and he was a smart kid, he knew math ( for example) he was just restless. He reminded me of myself in school and I told him that. If I found he wandering and got bored, we’d drop everything and just go to the gym and shoot hoops for 10 minutes, with the understanding we hit the books again. I got to know him well through those short years. My heart cried when I heard of his passing. Although he was in gr 5&6 back then, he left such an impression on me. He was truly a great kid. I’ll never forget you Tre. You were loved.

My condolences to the family, especially Darian and Justin. I remember them all fondly from their time at Saint Agnes! Sorry I just found out about Tre , or I would’ve tried to attend Tre’s funeral. May he now rest in peace in God‘s loving arms! God bless you all during this difficult time.
