Carl Blayne Belanger
Carl Blayne Belanger passed away on Sunday, June 1st, 2025, at the age of 68 years, with family by his side. Carl was born in Paris, Ontario on March 31st, 1957, and lived most of his life in the Briercrest, SK area.
Carl is survived by his wife, Beverley Belanger and their four children: Craig (Tara) Belanger, Melanie (Brent) Spencer, Murray (Amanda) Belanger, and Chantel (Sean) Minty; and grandchildren: Marc Belanger, Amiyah Spencer, Braelyn Spencer, Danielle Belanger, Aliyah Minty, and Zurrek Spencer.
Carl and Bev met in the spring of 1975 at the Regina airport. Carl was a ticket booth worker and Bev was a waitress. They married in the fall of 1977 in Regina, SK. They moved to Cabri, SK in the winter of 1977 then made their way north to St. Louis, SK in 1979, finally moving to the rural farming community of Briercrest, SK in 1982. All four kids attended school in Briercrest.
Carl enjoyed endless hours camping at Echo Valley with the family during the summer, endless days spent fishing each morning, maneuvering quickly into an afternoon of sun and fun at the beach, tubing and skiing on the lake, followed up by good food, great company and campfires. He quickly picked up the love for trucking in 1984 and didn’t quit until it physically was no longer possible. After some health issues he moved into Providence Place in Moose Jaw, SK in 2022, and then made his final home at the amazing place of St. Joseph’s Hospital/Long Term Care in Gravelbourg, SK in 2024.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Providence Place and St. Joseph for their endless support and kindness in Carl’s healthcare. You are all greatly appreciated.
We would like to thank Moose Jaw Funeral Home for their amazing assistance in the preparations for the Celebration of Carl’s Life that will be held on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 at the Drinkwater Community Hall from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl’s name may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital, 216 Bettez St, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0.
