Leonard George Beitel

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard George Beitel on Thursday, April 16, 2020.  Len was predeceased by his parents, George and Caroline (Main); parents in law, Peter and Betty Donauer; brothers, Zach (Annie), Sig (Dianna), Joe, Martin (Margaret) and Otto; sisters, Betty (John) Huber, Elsie (George) Huber, Irene (John) Rossler and Hedy (Adolph) Gross; as well as brothers in law, Vern, Kasper, Clarence and Allen Donauer.  Len is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edna and his children, Belinda (Rocky) Nickel, Keith, Shelley (Kevin) Ferguson, Garth (Debbie) Greg and Lori (Sig) Seversen; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as brothers, Wilfred (Phyllis) and Marvin (Julie).  Len was born May 22, 1937 in Bayard, SK. Len moved to Moose Jaw in 1954 where he then met Edna and they got married on March 2, 1957. Len was very well known in the community with the house building trade.  In keeping with Len’s wishes, a Private Family Service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Len’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital 4101 Dewdney Ave. Regina, SK S4T 7T1.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.     Edna and family, so sorry to read of Len’s passing. I was always glad to meet up with Him and have a visit, enjoyed his sense of humour and loved the way he cared about his family. He was one of the good guys.

    What can we say– so many times together. So many vacations,cruises, nights at the casino, lots of laughs and love. Len was one of a kind-always made you feel welcome. We will really miss him.     Sorry to hear of Len’s passing , thanks for letting me know. Still remember the two of us ridding down a hill on my bike in the Bayard dirt hills with Len on the back still don’t know how we made it down in one peace

    Edna, Belinda and family. Dad, Dave, Kimberley and I send you our deepest sympathy to you all. Len truly was a delight to talk to. Dad has missed his Lennie hockey talks, there was always something he needed to discuss with him. It was a hilight of the game to see and talk with you both.
