Laurie Albinet
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Mother, Mother-in-Law, Auntie and Grandmother, Laurie Albinet. Laurie passed away comfortably on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at the age of 69 years, in the presence of her family and close friends.
Laurie was born on July 3rd, 1956, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, the beloved Daughter of Arlie and Doug Chambers. She was a devoted Mother to Brett and Tracy, Auntie to Blaine, and Grandmother to Axel. Her greatest joy in life was raising her family and supporting them through every stage of life.
Throughout her life, Laurie was known for her kindness, strength, and generosity. She enjoyed spending quality time with family and making each holiday or celebration the most special that she could. She loved to travel the world, play cards, and read romance novels. If you asked Laurie what her greatest accomplishments were, she would say her children and then being a nurse. Laurie loved her career and was very proud of the work her and her team did to open the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw.
She was predeceased by her Mother, Arlie Chambers; Father, Doug Chambers; and Sister, Nola Belisle. Laurie will be dearly missed by Brett (Kelly & Axel), Tracy (Craig, Eddisynn and future Grandson), Blaine, as well as many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Laurie’s Life will be held on Friday, September 5th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion United Church, 423 Main St N in Moose Jaw, with Pastor Tim Coleman officiating. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Laurie’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, S6J 0C2, a cause close to Laurie’s heart. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Nothing about loss or grief is easy. It hurts, even at the most inconvenient and unexpected times. I hope you take what time you need to process. Nothing is more important than that you take care of yourself.
Deepest condolences to Brett and family. May your many memories help you through such a difficult time.
Our deepest condolences to Laurie’s family. She was a lovely lady and always had a big smile and beautiful eyes that sparkled. I was married to her Uncle Garry Kohl and she turned 9 the day we were married and was so excited to be there. Always enjoyed visiting
Laurie. RIP you will be missed and remembered.
