Ab Erskine
Ab Erskine aged 88 years of Moose Jaw, Sask., passed away peacefully at his home in Providence Place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 9th 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Rhoda; brothers Russ and Harold; sister-in-law Donna. Ab will be lovingly remembered by his children: Wayne (Tammy), Garry (Bonnie), Brenda (Ken) Neff, Grant (Bev) and Rhonda (Matt Harland) Smith; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and brother Jim (Belle). He is also survived by the mother of his children Gwen Boivin; sister-in-law Doreen Erskine and numerous other relatives. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy donations in Ab’s name may be made to the Providence Place Foundation Inc, 100- 2st Avenue NE Moose Jaw, Sask. S6H 1B8. Ab was a good friend of my father, Percy Lasby. I always enjoyed it when he would drop by and have a coffee on a rainy day. He had names for all the neighbours including my dad who he called Columbo because he looked just like him when he wore the light overcoat. I still have Ab on super 8 video with sound and my dad doing an interview with him at the kitchen table for fun. Although I live in Surrey now on the West Coast I actually phoned Ab and had a quick chat with him awhile a few years before he passed. He was a loyal friend to my dad and was always polite to myself.
