JEAN LAWRENCE
March 26th, 1933 – October 14th, 2026
It is with broken hearts and beautiful memories that the family of Jean Lawrence (née: Swanson) announces her peaceful yet sudden passing on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026, at the age of 93 years, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Jean was born in Fox Valley, SK but spent most of her life in Moose Jaw.
She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Florida Swanson; sisters: May Grace, Lorraine McDonald, and Elaine Goodman; her first husband, Ray Albright; son, Rick Albright; and second husband, Dan Lawrence. Jean will be forever remembered by her daughter, Darcy Albright (Jamison Franz); stepdaughter, Susan Pally (David) and family; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special acknowledgment to family members Darryl Grace, Ed (Sue) Cyr, and Deb Cyr for their devotion to Jean. All of whom Jean loved and touched deeply.
Jean had a kind and generous nature; she loved life and enjoyed adventures in Europe, Hawaii, California and fishing with Dan. She delighted in living at the lake and spending time with family and friends until it was necessary to move back to the city. As a hairdresser, she owned and operated a few different salons and taught at the Artistique Beauty School. Everyone who connected to her called her their second mom. She loved many pets over the years and requested her beloved dog Timmy be interred with her and Dan.
Jean left a legacy of love and compassion. Thank you for loving us, Mom.❤️
Special thanks to Home Care and mom’s “Angel” Mary Singer.
At Jean’s request there will be no funeral service. Condolences may be made online on the Moose Jaw Funeral Home website or mailed to Darcy Albright, 407 Ave. G So., Saskatoon, SK, S7M 1V5. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Jean’s name to Free To Be Me Animal Sanctuary, Running Wild, or to an Animal Rescue or Humane Society near you.
After Glow
I’d like the memory of me
To be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve
to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave
when my life is done.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
