Allan Louis Lemieux
It is with deep sadness, but hearts full of cherished memories, that we share the passing of Allan Louis Lemieux on Saturday, October 17th, 2026.
Born in Moose Jaw, SK, on November 22nd, 1945, to Louis and Alma (Hunter) Lemieux, Allan grew up on the family farm in Old Wives. After graduating from Central Collegiate Institute, he pursued training as an X-ray technician in Regina and Saskatoon – a path that led him to Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw and, most importantly, to the love of his life, Shirley Barnett. The two were married on October 7th, 1967, beginning a beautiful life together.
Throughout his career, Allan touched countless lives with his compassionate care at Providence Hospital, CFB Moose Jaw, Valley View Centre, and later at South Hill Medical Clinic, where he was a steady and friendly presence until his retirement. He also found immense fulfillment in helping families through his time with Parkview Funeral Chapel and Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Yet, no matter where life took him, Allan’s heart always belonged to farming. Working the land was his true passion, and the farm was the place he was happiest. He took tremendous pride in keeping the farmyard immaculate, and when he wasn’t in the field, he would be found in the shop or yard, “tinkering around” on a project.
In their later years, Allan and Shirley enjoyed their annual trips to Victoria, BC, where they created memories surrounded by friends and family. These spring months were a highlight of each year. Allan and Shirley also looked forward to their weekly meals and time spent with friends in their Tuesday Night Supper Group.
Above all, Allan had a remarkable gift for warmth and friendship. If you knew Allan, you were considered a good friend. His gentle smile, kindness, and genuine nature left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Allan’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife of 59 years, Shirley; sons, Todd (Sally) and Darren (Yasmina); daughter, Beverly (James) Murdock; his cherished granddaughters, Sydney (Carson) and Jenna (Blake); sister-in-law, Elaine Lemieux; and brothers-in-law, John Rosso and Clifford Barnett. He will also be lovingly remembered by his aunt, Laura Austin; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey in infancy; his parents, Louis and Alma Lemieux; father and mother-in-law, John and Eva Barnett; brothers, Bryan and Harold Lemieux; sister, Shirley Rosso; sister-in-law, Elaine Meadows; nephew, Victor Rosso; Louis’ second wife, Dorothy Lemieux; and his cousin and dear friend, David Harvey.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital and Heartland Hospice for their compassion shown to Allan and his family.
