Yvette Marguerite Thomson
Yvette Marguerite Thomson (née: Gosselin), aged 89 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away on Friday, August 28th, 2026.
Born on January 15th, 1937 in Willow Bunch, SK, Yvette and her family moved to Moose Jaw when she was young. She went on to the Davies office school and spent 27 years as a professional secretary at the Canadian Forces Base in Moose Jaw. She received her retirement send off from the Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney, P.C.
Outside of work, Yvette fancied stock car racing, taking home the Powder Puff racing award. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her video games. She was delighted to share her passion for cooking and baking with those she loved. Friends and family remember a compassionate woman who always made enough to share and happily added another chair at the table.
She was predeceased by her youngest son, Scott; and siblings: Marcel, Lil, and Raymond. Yvette is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Richard; children: Rick (Diane), Beth (John), and Wendy (Blaine); grandchildren: April (Brad), Tammy, Mike, and Chris; great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Valerie, Ciaran, and Kasen; great-great-granddaughter, Phoenyx; sister, Leona; brother, Lawrence; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 4th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Our Lady, 566 Vaughan St in Moose Jaw. Father Nestor Gregoire will be the presiding celebrant, and a private family interment will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
