During his time there, he obtained his Engineer’s Certificate required to operate boilers in schools. He later completed the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) program at SIAST in Saskatoon, SK. He also served as President of CUPE Local 55 for several years.
Colin put his handyman skills to good use (with the help of his brothers) building his family home on Algoma Avenue and later at Buffalo Pound Lake. He also had an interest in electrical wiring, helping many people sort out wiring issues in their homes.
One of Colin’s passions was canoeing. He enjoyed making annual canoeing trips with family and friends to explore the many rivers and lakes in Northern Saskatchewan. Colin also liked to cook. He continued to cook for a family of eight long after all the kids moved away. At Christmas time, everyone wanted Colin to make the turkey dressing.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Dr. F.H.
