James “Doc” Beaulieu
James “Doc” Beaulieu was born on June 5th, 1962 in Portage La Prairie and passed away on October 11th, 2025 in Moose Jaw, SK. He leaves behind to mourn his passing, sisters: Brenda (Al) and Janice (Dale); brothers: Richard (Patsy), Steve (Lorna) and stepbrother, Michael. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends. Doc was raised by his foster parents, Annie and Gordon Laycocks and spent a lot of his youth moving around. He finally set down roots in Saskatoon. He worked at the U of S as a security monitor for students. He was very proud of his work there and formed bonds with both the staff and students. Doc’s military service was what he was most proud of. He was an Explosive Ordinance Tech in the Canadian Army. He was a staunch advocate for the V.A and their members. He would offer any assistance he could to his fellow veterans. He would offer rides to doctor’s appointments, food, or just a listening ear to those who needed support. He was also an active member of the C.A.V in Saskatoon. Doc’s love for his dogs was undeniable; he treated them like they were his kids. Although he never had children, he would foster kids that needed his help. Doc also had a few quirks: he had a wicked sense of humour, a love for loud Hawaiian shirts and his love of “Jack.” He tried not to take things too seriously. Doc also had serious medical issues but never gave up. He had so much more living to do.
A Celebration of Doc’s Life will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Connor Park, Highway 363 Moose Jaw, SK. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
