BETTY “GWEN” MACKLIN (née: Paton; Jensen)

December 12th, 1938 – April 27th, 2026

We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Betty Gwendolyn Macklin “Gwen” on Monday, April 27th, 2026.  

Gwen was born on December 12th, 1938 in Central Butte, SK to Doris (née: Philpott) and Joseph Paton.  She was a big sister to Jack.  Gwen married Herb Jensen on June 12th, 1959 and together they had four children – daughters, Heather and Patti May, and twin sons, Colin and Corey.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Doris Paton; husband, Herb Jensen; special dancing partner and companion, Bev White; second husband, Ivan Mackin; son, Corey; grandchildren: Kathy, Kristen, and Eric; brother, Jack Paton; sister-in-law, Gloria Paton; and brother-in-law, Bill Jensen.  Gwen is survived by her children: Colin (Jennifer) Jensen, Patti May (Pat) Struck, and Heather (Ken) Kurz; grandchildren: Nicolas, Tucker, Lauryn, Aaron, Blaine, Kyle, and Larissa; great-grandchildren: Ryder, Ayden, Charlee, Bentley, Dash, Duke, Tiernan, Genavieve, and Conley; brothers-in-law, Tom (Diane) Jensen and Joe (Diana) Jensen; special niece, Denise (Tim) Sawers; special nephew, Derek (Candace) Paton; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Butte United Church in Central Butte, SK.  Sue Franklin will officiate and interment will take place in Central Butte Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Gwen’s name may be made to Iver Main Place, Box 550, Central Butte, SK S0H 0T0.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
