Inez Christine Anderson
The family of Inez Christina Anderson, aged 98 years of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, is saddened to announce her passing on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, quietly and peacefully in her sleep.
Inez was born on June 22nd, 1927 in the Riverhurst, SK area. She and her siblings grew up in the Osceola District. In 1947, Inez married Frank Summers and together they built a life on the farm east of Riverhurst. She was the true heart of the family farm, stepping into the demanding role of a farm wife with tireless energy, hauling bales, trucking grain, and tending to the cattle for many years. During this time, she also raised four children.
Following the unexpected passing of Frank in 1977, Inez later found companionship and married Siegfred Anderson. They farmed together for several years before retiring to Taber, AB to be near family. After Siegfred’s passing in 1993, Inez returned to her roots in Saskatchewan, moving to Moose Jaw and later to Assiniboia. She loved to spend her time curling, knitting, crocheting, making quilts, and working on crossword puzzles.
Inez will be remembered by her children and grandchildren: Barry (Lois) and Kegan, Rodney (Candace), Amy Jo and Amanda, Brian (Karen), Shauna and Cody, and Janice (Marvin), Janelle and Jordan. Her legacy will also live on through her 14 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Ross Payant Centennial Home for the care, compassion, and support they provided over the years.
A Celebration of Inez’s Life will be held on Thursday, April 16th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Seaborg officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Inez may be made to the Assiniboia Auxiliary for LTC (RPNH Recreation on memo line), Box 124 Assiniboia, SK., S0H 0B0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550
