George Kerr
On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, George Kerr passed away peacefully with the care team at Providence Place. The spiritual care team was able to arrange a beautiful zoom call, which allowed for his family to share their love and support from across the province and across the country.
Born July 16th, 1950 at Providence Hospital in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, George grew up on a farm outside of Mortlach, SK and then later a farm near Moose Jaw. His love of family was established in those early years.
In 1974, George married the love of his life, Jane Meacher, with all his brothers and sister in the wedding party. Together they had a son named after his father, Patrick. George was known to be a hard worker, a good friend and neighbour, and a caring husband and father. George was a happy and loving grandfather to Joseph Kerr. Even though his son and grandson were in Quebec, he was always grateful to be reunited with them, whether it be there, in Saskatchewan or Arizona.
He was predeceased by parents, Patrick and Myrtle; brothers: Robert, Michael, John, James, and Tom; and mother and father-in-law, Mary and Bill Meacher. George will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Jane; son, Patrick; grandson, Joseph; sister, Mary (Barry) Laporte; sister-in-law, Cynthia Gradwell; brother-in-law, Russ (Mary) Meacher; as well as numerous other friends and relatives.
George’s greatest passion was his family and auctions. He was also a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No.3395.
A Virtual Celebration of George’s Life will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the following Zoom link:
