Robert (Bob) Peden

The family of Robert (Bob) Peden are saddened to announce his passing at home on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026.  Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 19th, 1957 to Jack and Dora Peden.  He was the younger brother to Don and Ruth.

The Peden family moved to Moose Jaw, SK in the late 50’s and that is where Bob grew up.  He attended the U of R where he obtained a BA and a Teacher’s Certificate.  While there he was the President of the Student’s Union and was involved with making “The Owl” happen.

Bob wore many hats during his life.  He was an educator, worked at the Provincial Archives, was employed at the MLA office in Moose Jaw, and also spent summers groundskeeping at the Hillcrest Golf Course.  He was involved in the Arts in Regina, SK and was a big part of election campaigns, mostly in Moose Jaw.

Bob was always interested in helping those less fortunate and made it a point to get involved.  He has resided at Victoria Towers for almost a decade and again decided to get involved by being the President for a stint.  He was successful in getting a smoking hut outside the back of the building for himself and fellow residents.

Predeceased by his parents, brother Don Richan, and brother-in-law Glen Greer, Bob is survived by his sister, Ruth Greer (Ross Lundgren); niece, Amy Woloschuk (Curtis) and their family Jackson and Claire; and nephew, Benn Greer (Connie Wisner); all of Moose Jaw.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beth Richan of Calgary, AB and his nephews, John and Aidan and nieces, Alex and Emma and their families from across Canada.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Bob’s name may be made to Regina Cancer Patient Lodge, 4104 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 1A3 or The Friends of the Library https://mjlibrary.libnet.info/donationform.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. We were close friends growing up in Moose Jaw. I always enjoyed his intelligence and sense of humour, and know that he touched many in the communities of Moose Jaw and Regina with his readiness to use his gifts to help others by getting involved.

So sorry for your loss Ruth. Bobby would always be prying into what Don and I would be doing. I would meet Bob on the street occasionally and we would stop and have a chat. RIP Bobby
