GLADYS IRENE PIERCE
September 4th, 1939 – February 21st, 2026
Gladys Irene Pierce passed away on Saturday, February 21st, 2026 surrounded by her amazing granddaughters Samantha and Paige. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne; son, Rick; parents, Ben and Gladys; brothers: Gordon, Ben (Lena), Doug (Marlene), and Dave (Joyce); sister, Helen; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Judy); and sisters-in-law, Val and Dolores (Glen).
Glady and Wayne decided to take a chance with the restaurant industry. Little did they know that Calico Junction was open for close to 40 years, and Hopkins Dining Parlour even longer and is still going on strong. She always felt like she had a close bond with her staff over the years. She was there 7 days a week unless she was doing her second favorite thing which was traveling. Glady and Wayne travelled to many places around the world and loved it all. She owned Hopkins until her health wouldn’t let her anymore and it was one of the hardest things for her to do, sell. But it gave us 6 more years with her.
Glady moved into West Park Crossing where she got to enjoy visiting with all of the residents. She would say she was the welcoming committee and tried to get everyone joining in cards or nickel bingo. She made many special friends there.
Glady is survived by her loving son, Todd (Barb); and granddaughters, Samantha (Matthew) and Paige.
We would like to thank the staff at West Park Crossing for the years of kindness and compassion. A huge thank you to the nurses on the surgical ward, we are so appreciative of how hard you work, all that you do, and all that you see. You are all amazing. Another huge thank you to Dr Waldner for your care of mom in her final days.
A private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550

We are very sad to hear of Gladys passing. I remember going to the drive in movies with uncle Wayne and Gladys on one of their first dates and working with Wayne at Dept of highways. They were always great people and are missed by everyone who ever met them. Condolences to Todd ,Barb, and family.
I worked at Hopkins the day it opened in 1979. I knew the family through Gladys son Rick. No one worked harder than Glady. She impressed me with her memory for little things like peoples birthdays. Always smiling. Rest in peace Glady…

Condolences Todd, Barb, and family. I was deeply saddened to hear of Glady‘s passing. The impact she made on my life has stayed with me every single day as she taught me everything I know about accounting and that has been my career path for the last 35 years. She was a great lady that will be missed dearly. Hopkins was a part of my life for 15 years and I still say it was the best job I ever had.

I have known Glady since their first enterprise in the T and C Mall. Her hall cart and on ward. Calico was such a special place. Then came Hopkins where we had Mall Managers meetings in the basement. Before my Dad passed we had our Christmas dinners there more than once. Glady and the staff were so special. I loved seeing her for a catch -up at West Park.My deepest sympathy.
To the Pierce family:
We are so sorry for your loss. Gladys was an inspiration to the women of Moose Jaw.
Such a successful business she owned and operated for many years.
When our girls were young, we would go up to the 2nd floor of the Gift Shop at Hopkins House, and it usually resulted in us buying out most of her selection of Beanie Babies (and other gift items) lol
With our deepest sympathy,
Patty and Jackie Bruce
So sad to hear of Glady’s passing. She and Wayne were great friends of my parents, Jim and Betty Campbell and remained so till their deaths. Even after moving to Regina there were frequent trips to Moose Jaw, especially when they were setting up Hopkins with all the antiques and collectibles gathered from far and wide. I just recently found a copy of “Souvenir Menu No. 1” from Hopkins opening day!
I know how much they valued Wayne and Glady’s friendship, we knew there would be lots of laughs and shenanigans when they got together.
Condolences to the Pierce Family and all who knew and loved her.
My condolences to you Todd, Barb and family. Gladys and Rick were a big part of our life when we lived in Moose Jaw in the late 80s & early 90s. Gladys was a kind soul and a good friend. Thank you, Gladys, for the kindness and the great memories.
So very sorry for your loss Pierce family. I know she was such a confident and dedicated woman and that she cared deeply for her family. Moose Jaw was better because of her and she will be missed. I hope you continue to feel her love in your hearts through this difficult time.
