HARVEY DALE MORAN
July 18th, 1945 – January 20th, 2026
Harvey Dale Moran was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on July 18th, 1945, to Edmund and Betty (Haubrich) Moran. He was raised in Moose Jaw and attended school at St. Agnes and St. Louis College. Harvey passed away on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Harvey will be forever remembered by his children: Lee (John) Millar, Christine (Scott) Forgrave, and DJ (Carla) Moran. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Carter (Silken) and McKenzie Millar; Samuel, Brooke, and Tatum Forgrave; and Tanisha (Taylor) and Ethan Moran. Harvey is survived by his brother, Jerry Moran, and sisters, Sharon Lawson and Linda Prowse. He is also loved and cherished by many nieces and nephews, and their families.
Following his cosmetology training, Harvey opened his own salon, Hair Design Unlimited, located on 9th Avenue NW in Moose Jaw. After many successful years, he closed the salon to pursue his passion for education, opening a cosmetology training facility known as The Academies in downtown Moose Jaw. Alongside his partner, Trevor Pick, Harvey trained hundreds of students, many of whom went on to become respected stylists throughout Moose Jaw and surrounding communities. His dedication to mentorship and education left a lasting impact on the industry he loved.
Harvey was a successful business owner and a deeply engaged member of the Moose Jaw community. He served as a member and Chair of the Moose Jaw Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce), ran for Moose Jaw City Council, and was a proud 30-year member of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club, where he held nearly every position, including club president, and was honoured as Shriner of the Year in recognition of his service. Harvey will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generosity, community spirit, and unwavering commitment to helping others succeed.

The glass was never only half filled with Harvey.
He was a mentor to hundreds of people.
His Memory will be Eternal.
Harv was our forever friend – he was my Moms hairdresser & mine. We spent many times together at parties, holidays, Shrine events, happy hours, Andersons Saturdays. He was so supportive of Bill in his last days & was there with me at the end- I am forever grateful for that. I spent New Years Eve with him & family so I wouldn’t be alone. Rest in peace my dear friend. Love Lynn Johnstone & family .
We lived beside Harvey for 9 years. In those years we shared a new fence and a few beverages. A great neighbor. Harvey would “give you the shirt off his back”. We will miss him.
I worked with Harvey at York Auto Supply 1958ish. He was in parts sales I was in machining.
My condolences to Christine, Lee Ann & DJ.
There comes the times when words can never explain the true depth of what a person in this case Harvey brings to others. I was very blessed to have Harvey in my life through his undying commitment to the Shrine club. My heart is truly broken , thankful that I got to work closely through the years and Midwest with Harvey but saddened that I won’t have my biggest supporter in my corner. Rest easy Harvey and I hope you knew how much you meant to me and Cooper. Thank you to his family for sharing him all, the years , the world is a much better place because Harvey cared. .
My deepest sympathy in our time of grief.
Harvey was my good friend Linda’s big brother. He was so good to us in high school lending Linda and I his blue scooter and even drive his convertible when we were seniors in high school on Freshie Day. I have very fond memories of his big personality. Rest easy Harvey.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Condolences to the whole family. Harvey was a great man to be with . He was fair and worked in the Hair Styling business for a long time at the his mom’s style house on Main Street in Moose Jaw . Harvey ran the business for years before his retirement… we all miss Harvey !
Lee Ann, Christie, DJ and families,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Harvey’s passing. Although our friendship was many years ago, I remember him fondly and with great warmth, especially his mischievous sense of humour and gift of being able to bring a smile to those around him. I have not forgotten the wonderful times our families shared. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. My thoughts are with the family at this very difficult time.
Sincerely,
Carolynn (Gaudry) Gopfrich
