AMANDA DAWN ENNEST (née: Lalonde)

April 10th, 1982 – January 14th, 2026

Amanda Dawn Ennest, beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and devoted nurse, passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at the age of 43 years.  Amanda was born on April 10th, 1982, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where her gentle spirit and compassionate heart first began a life of quiet but profound impact.

Amanda was the center of calm in every place she entered.  She carried a rare peace within her – one that made others feel safe, seen, and accepted.  In her marriage to William, whom she wed on July 5th, 2009, she created a life marked by steadiness, love, and grace.  Their life together was peaceful and grounded; she gave him the gift of unconditional acceptance, unwavering support, and the deep assurance of being truly loved.  To be loved by Amanda was to be known without judgment and supported without condition.

Amanda had a big heart — one that was always searching for ways to help others, often quietly and without recognition.  She was creative, thoughtful, insightful, kind, caring, and deeply funny in a way that brought light even into heavy moments.  Her humor was gentle, her wisdom sincere, and her compassion instinctive.

As a Registered Nurse, Amanda faithfully served the communities of Boyle, Alberta; Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; and Central Butte, Saskatchewan.  Nursing was not simply her profession — it was her calling.  She loved the residents she cared for, treating each with dignity, tenderness, and genuine affection.  She also deeply appreciated her coworkers, offering encouragement and support in small but meaningful ways.  One such way was her “emotional support drawer,” lovingly filled with candies — a simple gesture that spoke volumes about who she was: someone who noticed when people were weary and wanted to offer comfort, however small.

God was central to Amanda’s life.  Her faith was not loud or performative; it was lived — steady, sincere, and anchored in love.  Her message was simple and unwavering: to choose Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.  She lived her faith through kindness, service, humility, and grace, trusting God in all things and pointing others toward Him through the way she loved.

Amanda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, William; parents, Mike and Janet Lalonde (née: Froehlich); brothers, Daniel (Aspen Haynes) and Bradley (Nicole); and her cherished niece and nephew, Azalea and Aadrik.  She is also lovingly remembered by her parents-in-law, Don and Sherron Ennest; brothers-in-law: Shane (Tanya), Robert, and Jon-Ross (Tara); and her beloved nieces and nephews, Sofia, Nikita, Ivan, Zoya, Eva, Meryn, and Abra.  She was deeply loved by her family, including her Grandma Inez Froehlich, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though her time on this earth feels far too short, Amanda’s legacy is enduring.  She leaves behind a quiet but powerful testimony of love, faith, and service — a reminder that gentleness is strength, that compassion matters, and that a life lived in Christ leaves an eternal mark.

She was, and always will be, deeply loved.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Interment will take place in St. Columba Cemetery, Tuxford, SK.  Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/.  A Time of Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Amanda’s name may be made to Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), 20 Robert St W, Newcastle, ON L1B 1C6.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

What a beautiful obituary. So very true of her. It brought me to tears and somehow, “she will be missed” seems so inadequate.

William, Mike, Janet, and others, our hearts and sympathies and prayers are with you as we look forward to the day when Christ triumphantly calls us from the graves.

Oh no!!! Mike, Janet, Bradly, Daniel.. I have so many fond fond memories of Amanda… I remember when she was born, her sweet rosy cheeks. I can close my eyes and remember her baby dedication! How very proud you were Mike and Janet. I remember when she was about two years old… we were having potluck, ! and I walked out the double doors toward the back door, Amanda and Brooke were sitting on the stairs together.. they were playing some type of patty cake game. Just then Amanda leaned over and she hugged Brooke, Brooke put her arms around Amanda and they’re the two of them were just hugging each other like the best of friends. Two little blonde Angels! “Till Jesus comes”

I am so grateful for the precious gift of her friendship over these past four decades. She was a beautiful soul, whose light has left far too early, leaving a void that can never truly be filled. My heart aches deeply for her family, whose grief is a heavy burden I hold close to my own. The memories we shared will forever be etched in my mind, a source of comfort and inspiration as I continue this journey called life. I love you dearly, my friend, and the ache of missing you will always be with me and everyone whose life you have touched.

I went to nursing school with Amanda and we were friends, especially for one clinical placement where she gave me a ride to and from the hospital where we had good conversation and then worked together on the unit. She was kind, intelligent and full of faith. So sad to hear of her passing.

My deepest condolences to you Janet, William and family. Amanda has endured much for the past twelve plus months and she did it with grace, courage, strength and determination. I will always remember her fight, her giggle, her smile that is bigger than life, her beauty and wit. During this difficult time I observed Amanda’s relationship with her Savior grow deeper, closer and every more beautiful – Amanda was at peace then and continues to be at peace now. As the book of John reads, “For I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me shall live.” Our goodbyes are not truly goodbyes but rather we look forward to seeing one another again for we are alive in Jesus. Big hug and blessings.

I met Amanda when she was visiting a friend at CUC in the 2000. We took pictures together and it was memorable. Fast forward to 2008 I got to know her because she was my classmate at a holistic school. Her presence gave me the assurance I was on the right track. She was so kind. She donated to my mission trip and when she shared her dx she was so hopeful and when I cried the last time we spoke. She was the one giving comfort. She truly had the blessed hope. She was firm about righteousness by faith. William my heart goes out to you and her parents, extended family and friends. Praise God this isn’t goodbye but see you later.
