Paul Mason Cleave
Paul Mason Cleave age 78 years of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, with family by his side.
He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Dianne; parents, Russ and Helen; and siblings, Patricia and Melodie. Paul is survived by his children, Darren (Theresa) and Darla; grandchildren: Tyson (Caitlin), Randy (Christin), Andrew (Jesse), Shelby, and Zander; great-grandchildren: Everett, Parker, and Lane; siblings: Glen (Marge), Luke (Dona), and Nancy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A well-known and well-liked small-town farmer in Mawer, SK, Paul spent his years working the land with care and quiet pride. Farming was more than his livelihood; it was a way of life that shaped his values and his deep connection to the people around him. He was someone others could rely on, known for his dependability and thoughtful way of being.
Paul enjoyed the time he spent running equipment across Saskatchewan and Alberta, valuing both the work itself and the places it took him. The miles, the changing scenery, and the routine of the job brought him a quiet satisfaction and reflected his strong work ethic.
Family was at the center of Paul’s life. He valued time spent together and found his greatest fulfillment in the company of those he loved. His influence, care, and example will continue to be felt by family, friends, and the community he called home.
Paul especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, working alongside them, or simply being present, those moments brought him great joy and pride. He took pleasure in watching them grow, offering guidance through example rather than words, and creating memories that will be held close for years to come.
A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held on Sunday, May 17th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Seniors Center in Central Butte, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St Clair Avenue West, Suite 300, Toronto, ON M4V 2Y7. Condolences on the passing of Paul Cleave, who farmed at Mawer. My wife Susan’s grandmother was a Beck from Denmark, some Becks homesteaded at Mawer in the early days. The next town was Lake Valley, my great grandfather George Lamb homesteaded next to the Devine property and later to the 8 Mile Road north of Moose Jaw. It sounds like Paul was a gentleman. appreciated by all, a good Saskatchewan person.
