Albert Noel Joseph Lizee
Albert Noel Joseph Lizee aged 95 years of Moose Jaw and formerly of Mossbank, SK, passed away on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025. Albert was a Christmas baby, born December 25th, 1929.
Albert loved playing hockey in his younger years. He also tried tennis and would play badminton through the winter. He loved the water, whether it be scuba diving in a lake up North (with his spear gun) or fishing. He spent many nights with his fishing buddies drinking around the fire. He was also an avid hunter and gun collector, owning a couple of handguns, a custom-made rifle, and everything in between. He even tried hunting with a bow and arrow for a change of pace.
Albert had his pilot license and flew glider planes and spin propeller planes. He got “rubber legs” when a plane he was flying quit in mid-air and he had to land in a field in Expanse, SK. One of the spark plugs blew out, even though he just had a safety done. He bought his first car, a Model-T, and had to rebuild the engine himself. Buying and selling vehicles was a big part of his life. He would also build remote controlled model airplanes and fly them.
Albert worked in Alberta blowing dynamite for a couple of years before coming back to Mossbank to work in the family butcher shop/grocery store until his retirement. Albert even tried farming as a hired hand, then rented land and grew his own crop. He had a good crop, but the prices tanked. His farming lasted a year.
Albert loved to travel. He went from Saskatchewan to Ontario by train, then walked over the border to Quebec for a beer. He also went to Hawaii twice, travelled all over Mexico, went up North, and travelled across Canada from British Columbia to Ontario. He visited many states as well. He would tell you that he lived a good life and saw many things along the way.
Albert is survived by his nieces and nephews.
A Private Family Service will be held to honour Albert. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
