RONALD MOWBRAY
August 26th, 1949 – December 22nd, 2025
Ronald Mowbray, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Monday, December 22nd, 2025, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, at the age of 76 years. Ron was born in Calgary, Alberta, where the foundations of life were built prior to moving to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1984. In 2018, Ron moved to Moose Jaw to reside closer to his family during his retirement.
He was predeceased by his father, Edward Robert Mowbray; and his mother, Evelyn Doris Mowbray. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Lisa (Mark) Meuleman and their daughters Katia and Ava, and Nicole “Niki” (Jim) Biniaris and their sons Yiorgo and Yhanei. He is also survived by his former wives, Marilyne Smith and Marion Love; stepdaughters Victoria and Jessica (Chris); and grandchildren, James and Nora. He will be deeply missed by his brother, David Mowbray (Brenda); and nephews, Bret and Kerry.
A proud journeyman carpenter, Ron graduated from SAIT in 1976 and spent the majority of his career self-employed. His professional life spanned many roles, including land developer, project manager, and superintendent, but above all, he was a builder of industrial projects with a life defined by independence and determination.
Ron loved to travel and truly lived for experiences. Whether it was a hot holiday in Honolulu, a trip to California to visit Mickey, a round of golf anywhere, or a journey to New York City to take in a Broadway show or marvel at Rockefeller Centre —especially at his favourite time of year, Christmas — he embraced life fully and enthusiastically.
Ron was always a presence in the room. Whether it was his towering 6’5” height or his unmistakable personality, he was often affectionately referred to as the “Big Guy.” His presence was felt, his voice remembered, and his impact lasting.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Ron’s care team, including Dr. K. Pilon, and all the CPRV staff, with special gratitude to Kristin, Micheala, and Roger, for their compassion and dedicated care.
A Private Family Service will be held to honour Ron.
“May he now find the brightest lights,
the best views, and the peace he deserves.”
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
