ARTHUR THOMAS SILLS

December 26th, 1942 – December 3rd, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Thomas Sills announces his passing on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, with his loved ones by his side.  Born on December 26th, 1942, in Malton, Ontario, Art lived a life rich in friendship, family, and the simple joys he cherished.

He was predeceased by his beloved partner, Katherine Durie and by his son, Thomas Arthur Sills, as well as niece, Lynda Thompson.  Art is survived by his son, Jay and his wife Lisa, and their children Hailey (Nicholas) and Madeline (Nolan); son, Mike and his children Tommy and Kalo; and stepson, Twain Warren, his wife Susie, and their children Abigail and Gavin.  He also leaves behind his sister, Margo; nephews: Mark, Greg (Karen), and Bart (Angie); and many great-nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Art spent most of his adult life working in the trucking industry in sales and marketing, where he built countless friendships — too many to name, but each one meaningful to him.  Whether on the road or at home, Art was known for his warmth, wit, and easy ability to connect with people.

The last two and half years, Art moved from Ontario to live with Jay and Lisa, we will be forever grateful to have spent this time with dad before he went home to his Lord and Saviour.  Dad cherished the moments to spend with his grandchildren and to get to know them better and make memories.  Dad also appreciated this time to become friends with his ex-wife Marilyn.

A passionate sports fan, Art followed his teams faithfully.  Namely, his Browns, Red Wings, and Blue Jays.  He loved keeping up with the latest Blue Jays news — always eager to know who they had signed for the upcoming season — and never missed checking the hockey scores from the night before.  Sunday was his favourite day of the week.

Art will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, and the deep love he had for his family.  His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

As per Art’s wishes there will be a celebration of life in Ontario, with friends and family sometime in the Summer of 2026.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Canada, 180 Bloor St W, Suite 500, Toronto, ON M5S 2V6, in memory of Art to honour his nephew Jake Thompson who is fighting a courageous battle with ALS.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

My sympathy goes out to everyone grieving the loss of Art – whether family member (he was my cousin), or friend, we will miss and always remember his smile, his laugh and his sense of mischief……he was always fun to be around.
I hope that warm memories of his infectious spirit will bring gratitude and comfort to us all.
