FLORENTINA GETZLAF
February 24th, 1928 – December 9th, 2025
Florentina Getzlaf aged 97 years of Avonlea, SK, passed away on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Getzlaf; and sons-in-law, Al Potts and Larry Bolianatz. Florentina is survived by her children: Patricia Potts, Kathy (Larry) Ardelan, Stephen (Shieliah) Getzlaf, Terry (Sheila) Getzlaf, Lawrence (Vickie) Getzlaf, Polly (Mark) Mondor, Gerald (Angela) Getzlaf, Alex (Michele) Getzlaf, and Michael (Michelle) Getzlaf; as well as 26 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Florentina’s faith was very strong, and she was a lifetime member of the CWL. She was a hard-working and terrific mother, who loved to bake, garden, and attend her grandchildren’s hockey games.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish in Claybank, SK. Father John Prince will be the presiding celebrant, and interment will take place in Claybank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Florentina’s name may be made to Coteau Range Manor, 210 New Warren Pl, Avonlea, SK S0H 0C0. The family would like to thank the staff at Coteau Range Manor for their care and compassion that they showed towards mom during her four year stay. I will always think of Flo with her friendly smile and hello when you met her. She was such a hard-working mom and who taught life lessons by example. Hugs to all of her children and their families.
