KEVIN ANDREW HACKMAN
September 10th, 1964 – December 4th, 2025
It is with immense sadness that we share the news of the passing of Kevin Andrew Hackman, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, on Thursday, December 4th, 2025.
He was predeceased by his father, Luke Hackman; his dad, Aron Dyck; 3 sets of grandparents: Eugene and Senora Hackman, Aron and Anna Dyck, William and Alma Kuhling; his in-laws, John and Regina Laturnas; brothers-in-laws: Steve, Robert, and Joseph Laturnas; as well as many aunts and uncles on both sides of his family. Kevin is survived by his wife, Linda; his 2 kids, Courtney (Layton) and Zachary (Bethany); grandkids, Noah and Ameris; mother, Carol Dyck; brother, Gordon (Esther); sisters: Valerie (Brian), Deborah (Mike), and Judith (Shawn); his wife’s many siblings and their spouses; and his many nieces and nephews.
Kevin was truly a perfectionist at heart and in every area of his life. At home, he set a phenomenal example for his children in how to steward their lives both personally and professionally. His stoic demeanour provided those around him with a confident, dependable, and trustworthy air of professionalism. He displayed a great deal of servanthood to his family, friends and clients, always holding himself to the highest standard of excellence, and encouraging them to do the same.
One of Kevin’s proudest moments was becoming “Papa” to Noah and Ameris. He appreciated the simple pleasures: a perfectly cut lawn, a perfectly grilled steak, a Sunday morning hot tub, and a bowl of ice cream after dinner. He had a subtle charm about him that made you think everything was going to be alright.
Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan became Kevin’s second home. He spent almost 3 decades working at Murray GM and was known for being the first one to arrive and one of the last to leave. Kevin devoted his adult life to the automotive industry, where he was well known and deeply respected. He created an atmosphere of trust and friendship with his customers as well as his co-workers. He will be greatly missed.
Kevin’s family would like to thank every healthcare professional who showed Kevin kindness and compassion along the road of this journey and are especially thankful to those who expressed the will to go above and beyond their regular responsibilities to help him.
Kevin will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, and the love he poured into his family.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 12th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Deacon Lamont Dyck officiating. My sympathy to Kevin’s family. I first met Kevin when we bought a vehicle at Eisbrenner GM in Regina over 30 years ago. I have since been able to see him quite often at Murray GM in Moose Jaw. Always good to chat with. I also knew his uncle that used to live in Craik, Ray Fillmore.
So sorry to hear of your loss Linda. I watched the video of the service and your daughter-in-law’s words were incredibly moving.
To the Hackman Family, we are so very sorry for your loss. You will be in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come.
My condolences Linda to you and your family on your loss. Your man will be with you always.
I was just sadly informed recently by a former co-worker from WCB that Kevin had passed away in December. I always thought of Kevin as a friendly and very personable co-worker while he was at WCB. Linda, I am so very sorry for your loss, and I pray that God will strengthen and comfort you and your family in the times ahead.
