Walter Edward “Bud” Little

Walter Edward “Bud” Little passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years, in the home of his granddaughter Melissa on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025 at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  “Bud” was born on December 30th, 1932 at Woodstock, New Brunswick; the youngest of the seven children of John Joseph “Jack” and Christina Little (née: White).

Bud enlisted in the RCAF in 1951 and spent his 25-year career as a Fire fighter at various Air Force bases across Canada, including Saskatoon, SK where he met his wife Frances, and Moose Jaw.  He retired from the CAF in 1976 and then worked for 20 years in the Saskatchewan Provincial Fire Commissioners Office, first in Regina, SK and then in Saskatoon.  He retired in 1997 from the Fire Commissioners Office in Saskatoon where he resided until health issues necessitated a move to Moose Jaw in June of this year.

He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Frances Little (née: Hill); parents, Jack and Tina Little; brothers, Herb (Almeda) and Harry (Betty); and sisters: Ruth (George) Gartley, Elizabeth (Louis) Burant, and Mary.  Bud is survived by his brother, Gerald; sons: Barry, David (Debbie), and Richard; grandchildren: Brodie, Brennen (Paetra), Christopher (Maddyson), Stephanie (Joshua), Melissa (Keagan), and Brandon; great-grandchildren: Everett and Oliver Lee-Little, Elizabeth and Victoria Little, Grayson, Kinsley and Brynleigh Grywacheski, Hudson and Ivy Francis; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bud loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He also enjoyed travelling, especially to the Maritimes, fiddle music, and going for coffee with his friends Vern and Cal.  Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He will be missed by his brother, sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews.

We would like to express out gratitude to the staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, Prairie Medical Center, Sask Abilities, Palliative Home Care, and Providence Place for the great care they provided.

In keeping with Bud’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
