Doreen Majeran

It is with heavy hearts we share that on Monday, November 3rd, 2025 Doreen Majeran passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years.

Doreen was very committed to being an educator and helping to meet the needs of students and families.  She started her teaching service in a one-room school with a pot-bellied stove in Armit, SK.  Throughout her service she had various roles, from classroom teacher to Special Ed teacher, to Counsellor, to Student Service Co-ordinator.  Doreen retired as Superintendent of Student Services in the Thunder Creek School Division in December of 2005.  Her love for the students will always be remembered, as well as being a great mentor to other teachers.  Doreen’s good spirit left a mark on all who worked with her.

She was predeceased by her father, George; mother, Katie; brothers, Sam and John; sister, Liz; sister-in-law, Betsy; and brother-in-law, David Miller.  Doreen is survived by her beloved niece, Tricia Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; and her remaining siblings: Laura (Ron) Acton, Gordie (Joan) Majeran, Gina Miller, George (Pat) Majeran, Tom (Sharon) Majeran, and Marina Majeran (Jonathan Gravenor).

In keeping with Doreen’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Doreen’s name may be made to Square One Community, Box 1616, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550

I had such respect for Doreen, as a leader in Education. She set the bar high, but at the same time, was always ready to listen to her colleagues’ ideas and suggestions. She made others felt “seen, heard, and valued”. She was a friend to many. May she rest in peace in her Saviour’s kingdom.

On behalf of everyone at Lindale School, we send our most sincere condolences to the Majeran family on your loss. Doreen may have been tiny in stature, but she was mighty in all other ways. She had a feisty spirit and always worked diligently to support what she felt was best for all kids. Our hope is that sharing memories and stories of the good times you had together will bring you some comfort during this difficult time. Thinking of you all.
