KENNETH RICHARD HOCHLANDER

June 6th, 1935 – October 9th, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts the family of Kenneth Richard Hochlander announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, October 9th, 2025.  He left this world surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eva Hochlander; mother and father-in-law, Anna and Gordon Scarrow; brother, Wally; sister, Violet; and granddaughter, Sash Hochlander.

Kenneth was born and raised in Constance, SK.  He met the love of his life, Jean, in 1960 and they married in 1961.  Together they raised three children: Joseph, Roseanne, and Gwen.  Kenneth loved farming and family, and both were very important to him.

In 1981, Kenneth sold the farm and purchased a house in Moose Jaw, SK, moving into it in 1985.  He worked for many years with Special Olympics in Moose Jaw.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Jean; son, Joseph (Jacey); granddaughter, Kayla; daughter, Roseanne; grandsons, Kyle and Garret; daughter, Gwen; beloved pet, Brandi; sister, Catherine; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Thank you to the staff in Emergency and on the Medical Floor at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.

In keeping with Kenneth’s wishes, a private family service will be held.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Kenneth’s name may be made to Trinity United Church, 277 Iroquois St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 5A8 or to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

Ken was a special fellow. We always enjoyed our visits. He kept us up to date on all the activities that Gwen was participating in. He was so proud of her many accomplishments.

My hearts breaking knowing your gone my dear uncle, I so wish I had been around more to see you, I will never forget being at Aunt Jeannie and your wedding, visiting you when I was bowling in tournaments in moose jaw, Ray and I coming when we had antique shows we were doing, being at my youngest daughter’s wedding and my favorite was picking apples in our backyard! You always asked how our daughter Megan was and I always bragged about you and auntie being so much involved with Special Olympics . We will miss you always ❤️

My deepest sympathy to all of you from. Myself and my wife Ludivina and step daughters Nikki and Mia. I will never forget our trips to Rockglen to visit all of you. My special moment that I will never forget is uncle Ken making me my first pair of cowboy boots and him saving from the huge rooster that would chase me around the barnyard. Love you uncle ! Rest easy!

I just heard the sad news of Ken’s passing. I knew him for many years, and enjoyed performing with him at numerous jam sessions and events. He was a wonderful musician and friend, and I wish to express my condolences to his family and friends.
