Ian Duncan Thinn
Ian Duncan Thinn, born on February 28th, 1970, passed away on Saturday, September 27th, 2025. Ian is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Erin; stepdaughter, Talia; grandson, Xander; parents, Alastair and Gail Thinn; sister, Lorna (Allan); nephews, Jonathan and Matthew; and niece, Mary.
Ian was a simple man. He loved airplanes, westerns, camping, kayaking, being in nature, and most of all, the mountains. Banff was where his spirit felt at peace and his soul rejuvenated. He also loved Waskesiu. It was his home away from home and the next best thing to being in the mountains.
There will be no immediate service, but a Celebration of Ian’s Life will be held in the spring, with a date yet to be determined.
Rest easy now Sweetie. Know that you were loved beyond measure and will be missed every single day!
Until we meet again. Erin XXOO

Hi Erin – I am so sorry for this loss of your sweetheart. My connection was brief – a few years via the air cadet program – but I do remember the support and involvement that he invested to help to make that program strong. Susanna
