John Wade Morgan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Wade Morgan on Friday July 11th, 2025 in Chaplin, Saskatchewan.  John (Wade) was born on September 7th, 1961, in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.  He was predeceased by his father, Ted Morgan; mother, Margaret Corkum; brother, George Morgan; mother-in-law, Velma Doucette; father-in-law, Ernest Doucette; brother-in-law, Ernie Doucette; and great-nephew, Evan Graham.

John (Wade) is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Faye Doucette, of Chaplin, SK; his sons, Devan (Cass) of Saskatoon, SK and Aaron of Chaplin, SK; and stepson, Kenny of Halifax, NS.  He is also survived by his sisters: Angie (Myles) Whynott of Oxford, NS, Wendy (Doug) of Woodstock, NB, and Lisa (Rob) of Kingston, NS; and brother, Alan (Wanda) of Kingston, NS.  Wade was a wonderful uncle to 16 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

John (Wade) was employed by the municipality of Chaplin, a community he cherished deeply.  To know John (Wade) was to know a man of strong work ethic, unwavering love for his wife, children, and family, and a person who asked for little, finding joy in the simplest things.  He didn’t seek material possessions; his true wealth came from his family, who inspired him every day.  John (Wade) loved deeply, was very compassionate and was always protective of his loved ones.

In keeping with the families wishes, a Celebration of John’s (Wade’s) Life will be held at a later date.

Our family has been forever blessed to have had him in our lives, and we will carry his memory forward every day, for he will never be forgotten.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550

John was always there if the furnace went out, anytime, day or night he came, ,mostly didn’t charge much if at all. A good man who will be missed, my deepest sympathy to Faye and John’s family

Thank you so much for sharing that memory of my brother. It truly means a lot to me.

He had such a big heart and was always willing to help, often asking for little or nothing in return. I’m so glad you got to experience the kind of man he was—he cared deeply for others and never hesitated to lend a hand when someone needed it.

Hearing stories like yours brings comfort and reminds me just how special he was to so many.

We didn’t know John very well having interacted with him on a few occasions but it’s still a shock when someone so young is suddenly gone especially when he is such an important part of a community.
Audra and I wish to extend our deepest condolences to John’s family and may he rest in peace.

      Dear Audra and Pierre,

Thank you both so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share them. It means a great deal to our family.

John (Wade) truly was an important part of your community—he loved his work with the village and was so proud to serve and help others in any way he could. He talked often about the people he worked with and the sense of purpose it gave him. Slowing down was never in his nature—he was always on the go, always trying to lend a hand.

It brings comfort to know he touched so many lives.

Thank you again for your thoughtful message.

      Wendy (John (Wade’s) sister)
