Spearing, Kenneth Garfield
Kenneth Garfield Spearing
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Kenneth Garfield Spearing, who passed away peacefully in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on Friday, September 4th, 2026. Ken was born on June 29th, 1931, to Harold and Minnie Spearing.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Minnie; his beloved wife of 53 years, Beverly; and his sons, Brian and Trevor. Ken is survived by his children, Don (Charlene) and Tracy (Richard); grandchildren: Brianna (Joey), Jasmine (Derek), Courtney (Derek), Ryley, Sabrina (Durrel), and Callum; and his longtime partner, Terry Slater. He will also be lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren: Britton, Sailor, Leah, Finn, Coco, Hunter, Eve, Kai, and Ava.
Ken grew up on a farm but realized early in life that farming was not his passion. He began a career in the oil field and later established his own trucking company. He enjoyed spending his summers at Kenosee Lake and his winters in Mazatlán, Mexico, where he made the most of golfing, boating, fishing, playing cards, and entertaining family and friends. These times created many cherished memories that will remain with us always.
Ken will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Oxbow Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Ken’s Life at 3:30 p.m. at Kenosee Lake Four Seasons Drop-In Centre. Everyone is welcome to join us for one or both gatherings. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
