Darrel Roman Rushinko

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darrel Roman Rushinko aged 61 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, surrounded by loved ones on the morning of Tuesday, October 6th, 2026.  Darrel was the loving husband of Connie Rushinko, and father and grandfather of Travis (Casandra and children Tayler, Arthur, Amelia), Tyson (Hayley and children Hayden and Rayna), and Dustin (Michayla and children Kaellum and Lucas).   

He was predeceased by his parents, Roman and Alice Rushinko; and mother-in-law, Doreen Onofrichuk.  Darrel is survived by his brothers: Dale, Scott, and Stacey; and his father-in-law, Arthur Onofrichuk.  

Darrel was born on April 7th, 1965, to Roman and Alice Rushinko.  He grew up on the Rushinko farm near the community of Ituna, Saskatchewan.  Darrel later married the love of his life, Connie, on November 12th, 1988, and they happily raised their three sons and seven grandchildren.  Darrel will forever be known for his love of his family and pride of his work ethic.  

Darrel’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Allan Blair Cancer Centre and Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.  

A Celebration of Darrel’s Life will be held on Friday, October 16th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate, and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery.  Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Darrel’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1 or Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
