TODD WAYNE PIERCE
September 30th, 1961 – August 8th, 2026
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Todd Wayne Pierce aged 64 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on Saturday, August 8th, 2026. He fought a short but tough battle with esophageal cancer. He was an amazing husband, father, and friend.
He was predeceased by his dad, Wayne in 2006; brother, Rick in 2007; mother-in-law, Eleanor Kerestes in 2010; father-in-law, Jim Kerestes in 2022; mom, Glady in February 2026; and his favorite dog Roxy in May 2026.
Todd worked alongside his dad running Calico Junction for many years until Wayne’s retirement. While working at Calico, one day he saw a new girl in town. Barb was the manager of the new record store. It was love at first sight. They dated for a few years then went to Maui, Hawaii and got married. Todd and Barb had 2 girls, Samantha and Paige. He was so proud of both girls and all of their accomplishments and was looking forward to seeing what was next for both of them.
Todd worked with Barb and then his girls Samantha and Paige until the Covid pandemic when Calico closed.
Todd enjoyed the outdoors. He had a very green thumb and could make anything grow. He also enjoyed working on cars. Todd drag raced for many years in Saskatoon, SK and Medicine Hat, AB and made many friends. He went to watch a couple of races in Brainerd, Las Vegas and Phoenix. He even enjoyed the NASCAR race we went to.
Todd really enjoyed travelling. Mexico was a favorite. He loved his street tacos, but his favorite trip to Mexico was for Samantha and Matt’s wedding. It was our last big family vacation, and it was absolutely perfect.
Todd will be missed by so many people.
Todd is survived by his wife and best friend, Barb; his daughters who he was so proud of, Samantha (Matt) and Paige; and sister-in-law, Sheryl (Craig) Kergen and their children.
The family would like to thank Dr Braun for his care, kindness, and compassion, to the nurses on the Palliative Care team, Pat, Sabina, and Kathy – you are amazing ladies and very appreciated, and to the nurses and doctors on the surgical ward – you are all so kind. Lastly to the MAID program who let you go with dignity and on your own terms before this terrible disease takes it away.
A Time of Fellowship will be held on Friday, August 14th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A private family interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Todd’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1 or The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.
