Lorna May Newton

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our sister Lorna May Newton (née: Multon) on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026, who was also a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a friend to many.  

Lorna was born July 5th, 1962 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Peter Multon and Eunice Multon (née: Drake).  She was a nighthawk who used to like playing cards till the wee hours of the morning.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Eunice; her grandparents; nephews, Andrew Multon and Aaron Multon; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her fur babies.  Lorna was loved and will be missed greatly by her son, Paul Newton (Winnipeg); grandchildren: Nick, Chasity, Josh, Alicia, Brett, and Alyssa; great-grandchildren: Avery, Annabelle, Theo, Charlotte, and Junior; siblings: Terry Multon (Maple Creek), Barbara Multon (Moose Jaw), Michael (Vickie) Multon (Medicine Hat), Janet (Allen) Hogemann (Moose Jaw); long time partner, Pierre “Peter” (Moose Jaw); as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and of course her fur babies.  

Janet and Barb will be hosting a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rose Room at Providence Place, 100 2nd Ave NW in Moose Jaw.  A celebration of life will be held for Lorna at a later time in 2027 with further information to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorna’s name may be made to your local Humane Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
