Flora Moorthie
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Our beloved mother, Flora Moorthie, was promoted to Glory on Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at the age of 86 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Brigadiers Samuel and Juliet-Maria; and sisters, Mercy and Victoria. Flora is survived by her beloved husband, Bob; children, Manjula (David), and Tamara (Clay); grandchildren, Darius and Sarah (Stephen); and siblings: Pearline, Stanley, Elizabeth and Catherine.
Flora was born on October 3rd, 1939, the oldest of 7 children. She married the love of her life on January 1967, and they were inseparable from the “I do” till the final day she went home to be with Jesus.
A proud soldier of the Salvation Army, Flora carried her parents’ legacy with honour and pride. She worked as a business administrator of the adult rehabilitation centres command for the Salvation Army both in New York State and in Connecticut for 13 years. She retired with her husband and called Saskatchewan home. She made many friends along the way whom she cherished.
We are heartbroken to lose such a wonderful person. Flora will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Flora’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Community Church, 2 Wintergreen Drive in Moose Jaw, SK. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Flora’s name may be made to the Salvation Army Moose Jaw Community Church, #2 Wintergreen Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 4C9.
