Carol Ann McGregor
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our one-of-a-kind Mom, Grandma, Sister, Auntie, and Friend. Carol Ann McGregor was born December 20, 1940 and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14 in Moose Jaw, SK, surrounded by her children, following a brief cancer diagnosis.
Mom left this world as she lived, with dignity, honour, and her sense of humour intact, surrounded by those who loved her.
In her final days, we reminisced about a life that spanned remarkable change, she experienced a time of rationed food on the farm and horse drawn stoneboats to school. She also lived to see a time when she could proudly FaceTime her sisters and grandchildren, watching their games and performances remotely from the final home she and Dad shared at Rosewood in Moose Jaw. Mom loved to tell stories about her life and the pride she took in overcoming obstacles. That pride shone through in every story, each one leaving us with another life lesson to live by and pass on to our own children.
Mom will be remembered by her daughters, Charlyn McGregor and Darla (Trevor) Peterson and son Graham (Melissa) McGregor; and grandchildren, Raina Peterson, Carson McGregor, Grier Peterson, Kaeleb Tabin, Kole McGregor & Berkleigh McGregor.
Also left to remember her are her beloved sisters, Eileen (Jack) Popoff and Merle Bishop, and sister-in-law Cheryl McGregor (Rob Will). Beyond this is the extensive list of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she accumulated in 85 incredible years.
Carol was predeceased by her husband Wayne McGregor; parents Lillian & Udney Grieve; brother Boyd Grieve & sister-in-law Helen Grieve; brother-in-law Bill Bishop, brother-in-law Maurice “Joe” McGregor and sister-in-law Carol McGregor and Wayne’s parents; Grace and Gordon McGregor.
The Celebration of Carol’s Life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Debbie Richards will officiate and interment will take place at Central Butte Cemetery. For friends and family who are unable to attend you are invited to view the service virtually by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/. There will be a time for shared stories and fellowship immediately following the service before travelling to Central Butte where both Carol and Wayne’s remains will be laid to rest, together, at the Central Butte Cemetery. All who knew and loved them as we do, are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers the family invites donations to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation 55 Diefenbaker Drive, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 0C2. The care and support our entire family experienced during Mom’s short stay there was heartwarming and showed the strength of our healthcare system is with its people. Please consider a donation in Mom’s name towards this important work.
Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
