Myrtle Atkinson Laybourne
Myrtle Atkinson Laybourne, aged 83 years of Tugaske, SK, passed away Monday, March 12th, 2012. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 17th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Tugaske Community Hall, Tugaske, SK. Myrtle was born in Elbow, Sk. She married James Laybourne on July 7th, 1951 and together they farmed 5 miles north of Tugaske. She was a member of the Tugaske United Church, U.C.W., Quilter’s Guild, Weight Watchers and was a 4H Leader. Myrtle also taught school at Harrison School for a year. She was predeceased by her husband, James; brother, Archie Ector and sisters, Robena Chernick and Wilma Piel. Myrtle is survived by her sons: Elvin Laybourne, Jim (Ellen) Laybourne and John Laybourne, all of Tugaske, SK; granddaughters, Nicole Laybourne and Kathleen (Doug) Gessner; great-granddaughter, Shawna Gessner; sister, Marjorie Pederson and sister-in-law, Shirley Ector. Donations in Myrtle’s name may be made to the St. Andrew’s United Church – Tugaske, c/o Box 87, Eyebrow, SK S0H 1L0. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
